I’m Anna Hartley, the founder of Aha Creative, a Brisbane-based brand design studio specialising in strategic, creative branding for businesses that aren’t afraid to break industry norms..

I started Aha Creative because I loved brand design, but agencies kept turning me away—I didn’t have the “right” experience. But I had the drive, the knowledge, and the skills, so I thought: Let’s do this!

A defining moment? Quitting my job at a photography business that made me dread every workday. I wanted a career that fuelled my creativity and fit around my family life—my son Cooper (aged 3), my husband Callan (my biggest supporter), plus our dog Mango and cat Nori. Now, I get to do what I love on my own terms while helping businesses build brands with impact.

I don’t follow trends for the sake of it—I ask why not? and push boundaries to create bold, unique brands that truly reflect who you are.

What I Love About Branding

For me, it’s all about the journey—the “aha” moment when everything clicks. We start with ideas, refine them, and sometimes end up somewhere unexpected (in the best way). I love when a client sees the final brand identity and says, Yes! This is it!—that’s what makes it all worth it.

Before launching Aha Creative, I worked across marketing, photography, and print production. This mix means I bring more than just design skills—I understand how to create branding that works across digital and print, how to craft compelling brand storytelling, and how to manage multiple priorities seamlessly. Plus, with a strong background in print production, I make sure your logo, colour palette, and brand assets look flawless in real-world applications.

What Inspires Me?

📚 Books – I’m a total book nerd. Fantasy and drama/romance are my escape from reality.
🌿 Nature – Beaches, rolling hills, golden hour, gumtrees, warm sun—these are my happy places. I make sure to get away at least once a year to recharge.
